As much as I like having my picture taken when I was a kid, I am the total opposite now. I prefer, instead, to take pictures and try to capture great moments on film (or rather, digitally). I like taking candid pictures of people because I believe that there are some emotions of that person that you'll never know. Like my mom, she seldom smiles in front of cameras but she laughs and giggles all the time. And I want to capture moments like these.
My first hand on camera was my dad's slr. I can't remember the model, unfortunately, but it's a Nikon. He has one for film and another for slide pictures. I truly enjoy those days when we gather infront of the slide projector and laugh at all the silly things we did.
When I did my industrial training, on my first 'paycheck', I bought myself Trusty. Trusty is my Olympus C-350 digital camera. From then on, I took pictures of everything but I wasn't into photography yet. I just enjoyed taking pictures.
Slowly, I started looking through sites and I got influenced by my photography enthusiast friends. I then started scouting for good SLR cameras and came to love the Nikon D70s. Uchong (the bf) and I bought a Nikon together (because he is also a great photographer!! :) ) and we intend to improve our photography skills. I've grown up with Nikon cameras and my photography teacher in school owns a Nikon, so naturally, I came to trust Nikon much more than the Canon. Anyway, the Canon is too small to fit a man's hands. :) or rather, my man's hands.
If you want to know more about me or if you want to criticise my photography skills (please please do. We all learn through criticism.), please email me at thuilinglee[at]gmail[dot]com. I'd love to hear from you.
